Qualifications: Assistant Director of Aircraft Maintenance
REQUIREMENTS
5 years (minimum) of aviation maintenance experience (ideally, experience with Air Tractor aircraft & PT6A engines)
Possession of valid driver’s license and A&P license with IA requirement (or eligible to obtain IA within 1 year of date of hire)
1 year (minimum) of management experience
Ability to manage company maintenance activities as required and supporting after hours operations as required
Clear, concision and professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to respond quickly, safely and efficiently to problems that arise while providing service and/or leadership
Thorough working knowledge of current applicable FAA regulations
Ability to work under time and schedule pressure
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including travel
Willingness to review and agree to the terms and conditions of employment as stated in the Dauntless Air Employee Handbook
JOB DUTIES
Maintaining the Dauntless Air fleet of AT-802 Fire Boss configured aircraft in a mission-ready status in compliance with FAA & fire agency regulations
Maintaining Dauntless support fleet of aircraft
Supervising Dauntless technicians located at all aircraft maintenance facilities
Ensuring quality assurance practices are adhered to and maintaining all required records, logbooks and permanent in conformity with all applicable regulations
Overseeing the procurement of aircraft parts and supplies and maintaining a level of inventory necessary to support the Dauntless fleet
Providing performance feedback and guidance to Dauntless technicians
Performing/providing direction/oversight/management of:
Annual inspections, 50hr & 100hr inspections and Service Letter compliance
Maintaining the fleet aircraft in readiness and safety for flight status during fire season
Ensuring the monitoring and management of the fleet’s PT6A-67F engines meet or exceed PWC’s recommended standards
Developing and maintaining aircraft documentation for FAA and contract compliance
Overseeing procurement of aircraft related parts, inventory and inventory control
Maintaining tooling in certification compliance
Overseeing facilities maintenance and environmental conditions
Coordinating and meeting maintenance labor requirements and handling personnel within the maintenance department
Maintaining an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual respect with coworkers, subcontractors, customers, competitors and all others
Coordinating travel as required for maintenance personnel
Assisting the Director of Operations/Chief Pilot in coordinating and accomplishing aircraft readiness & safety objectives
Attending meetings and conferences as requested
Assisting in the development of budgeting and forecasting information for the maintenance department
Recommending continuing education courses and certifications for maintenance personnel
Completing annual management/supervisor continued education courses
Completing other tasks as directed by the Director of Maintenance
